Actually, I checked that. Counting the space between bracket pairs as well as between brackets, there are seven. Uneven sizes, of course, but his count is right.

I get what you're saying, by my mind's eye refuses and can only see four grill openings.

It's just stuck in my memory because Hummer grills look similar, and also have seven slots, and there was a lawsuit even, but Hummer got to keep their Jeep-like 7 slot grill.
